Recent rockbottom behavior.

The other night I ran into my friends Becky and Jen on the street in the tres trendy
area known as the “Lower East Side” in New York (known in tres tres trendy circles
as the “LES”). We were laughing and being nothing short of adorable there on the
sidewalk, as we are often wont to do in these situations.

Suddenly I heard someone shout “SARA SCHAEFER!” I looked in the direction of the
voice and saw that someone in a passing cab was rolling down the window and
waving. I had a fan!

Fan = close friend that I couldn’t recognize.

Now, all that was simply darling, but not rockbottom. My reaction was rockbottom. As mentioned, instead of assuming it was a friend saying hi, I immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was an adoring fan yelling out my name. With reckless whimsy, I yelled out in response: “HELLO! I LOVE YOU!” In the same tone/energy as one might receive an Academy Award.
