Back to school
My friends at Hello Hilarious posted a funny thing about the first day of school, and it
got me thinking about the subject. I remember getting really excited about the first day,
mainly because of the new supplies and shoes. But I also got really scared out of my
mind over the whole thing.
My favorite first day of school photo has to be this one:

Can you see the anticipation on my face?? Now I know why people tell me I'm a morning person. And boy did I love my mom coming down to the busstop with me!!
One other thing you should note about this picture: hidden under that rain hood, I have a fro. The fro is not natural. It's a perm. Yes, in the second grade, my mom gave me a perm. I think it's because I really liked Annie. And my mom had a perm. So I thought I should have one, and my mom, always indulging in things girly, naturally obliged.
I always had terrible nightmares the night before the first day of school. They usually were something similar to this:
Thanks be to Christ those days are over!! Now I have nightmares about taking my infant niece to work with me and then losing her.

I'm sorry Chloe!

That's a very understated modern lunchbox. Kind of a iLunchbox.
I had dukes of hazzard. Man did I love that lunchbox.

Yes. It is sort of modern. You can't see it, but it has "Sara's Lunch" spelled out in perfectly formed puffy paint letters. My friend's mom would personalize items like that and sell them at a local gift shop. It was all the rage in Midlothian.
